Drake: TAKE CARE (Album Stream/Review)
Thought I'd chuck up five songs off the album that everyone should listen to. 5 songs doesn't do anywhere near justice, you should really listen to the whole thing start to finish!!!!
Drake- Shot For Me (prod. by 40)
Wait till the beat drops. Out of nowhere. You'll love it. Pretty interesting lyrics. Classic 40 production (you'll here alot more of that).
Drake (feat. The Weeknd)- Crew Love (prod. by Illangelo, 40, The Weeknd)
Love this triphop/trance stuff. The Weeknd helped out on three other tracks in the album.
Drake - Marvins Room / Buried Alive (Interlude) (Feat. Kendrick Lamar) (prod. by 40, Supa Dups)
Kendrick's verse is something from another planet, and Marvins Room is one of the standouts on the album.
Drake- The Real Her (feat. Lil Wayne and Andre 3000)(prod. by 40, Drake)
Try decoding Andre 3000's verse...
Drake- The Ride (prod. by Doc McKinney, The Weeknd)
Some of the best lyrics off the album. Final track on the album, excluding deluxe tracks.
Extra: Drake- Look What Youve Done (Chase N. Cashe, 40)
I put this one up cause it has a real unique sample. It samples rehearsal footage of the late songwriter-producer Stephen “Static/Major” Garrett, as he works out “If U Scared, Say U Scared,”. This was the guy who featured in Lil Wayne's 'Lollipop', but passed away a couple weeks before Lollipop was released and went number one across the world. This is 40, the executive producer's favourite track off the album. Easily the most heartfelt song I'd imagine in Drake's eyes. Read more here from Sean Fennessey, an editor at GQ Magazine.
Overall, a more-than-impressive full-length LP which truly takes you on a trip into what goes on in Drake's head. At times towards the end he may lose our attention with the constant stripper banter ('Cameras', 'Practice'), but his brutal honesty in every track is what sets him apart from the large majority of artists out at the moment. Next, lets look forward to what his counterparts in OVOXO have for us, no doubt Drake will be hoping to create his own little click in the industry with the likes of ASAP Rocky, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar and his right hand man Noah '40' Shebib.
